I met Mr. A this past Saturday. Such a tiny little man! Regardless, he did so well for his first modeling session, don’t you think? I love seeing fresh little ones in my studio! It sure doesn’t take long to forget how tiny a new little person is when your youngest is over 3 years old

Another new sweet little boy…
February 7, 2010Trendsetting Thursdays
February 4, 2010Today’s “What to Wear” discussion is for the kids. You do not have to buy your girls the exact same dresses…I know being a mom of two girls with a 5 year age difference between them, that is a difficult task anyway. And, as your daughter’s get older, they’ll have their own styles.
By selecting outfits with same color tones, the children will “match” enough to create a harmonious picture without their faces competing for a focal point in the portrait! Also, remember to choose clothing that has the same formality level. You wouldn’t want your girls dressed in a taffeta dress and patent leathers if your boy is going to be wearing jeans!
While shoes might be required for a more formal portrait, even opting for a barefoot for a few poses would be OK. Sometimes there isn’t anything cuter than little piggies peeking out from a pretty dress or khakis!
Sweet baby boy…
February 3, 2010Handmade Wooden Duck Calls
January 31, 2010My husband is pretty handy. He loves trying out new hobbies. One of his latest is turning wooden duck calls. He likes trying new woods, colors, textures. They come out very pretty - and I’m not a duck call connoisseur. There will be more items added to this shop soon, so check back often to see what he’s up to next.
Trendsetting Thursdays: Just the two of you
January 28, 2010I had started something like this awhile ago - but got a little slack in updating it. So, here we go. Today I thought I’d start out with something for the ‘grown-ups’ in the family. Yes, you too should have your portraits taken every once in awhile. Whether you are celebrating a special anniversary, an engagement, or just a holiday or even JUST BECAUSE, getting a professional portrait once in a while is just the ticket! After all, you go through changes as well.
Just like when you are selecting an outfit for family portraits, you should keep things simple. Keep colors in the same tones…and avoid opposing patterns. Following these simple rules will help keep the focus on the two of you, rather than your shirts!
A Sweet Baby Girl
January 16, 2010While she didn’t get sleepy till the very end, this little princess was very ready for her first portrait session!

A fresh little face {Raleigh Newborn Photographer}
September 29, 2009Little “K” didn’t want to go to sleep. His momma promised he should be sleeping soundly for the session - it took a little secret trick of mine, but he finally got sleepy and we got to attempt some fun poses! But look at that face - isn’t he just the sweetest! Welcome to the world little man!
A new addition to the family is on his way! {Maternity Photographer -Raleigh, NC}
September 20, 2009I always enjoy a maternity session. It means that there is a new little life getting ready to join this great big world. A new little life is being brought into this world because of the love that two people share for one another! It is such an amazing gift and each time this little miracle happens - I’m reminded of the joy I felt when I gave birth to my first child - then my second and THIRD! Nothing, not even time, makes this event anything less than a miracle!
